Jessica Chastain

JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain, born on the 24th of March, 1977, is an American actress. Most famous for her roles in films with feminist themes. she has received numerous accolades like an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine named her one the 100 most influential celebrities around the world in 2012. Chastain was a keen actor at an early age. She made her stage debut as Shakespeare's Juliet in 1998. After studying acting at Juilliard School, she was offered a talent contract with John Wells. She was a frequent guest star on numerous television shows and played several roles in stage productions. Chastain made her film debut in Jolene (2008) at the age of 31. She went on to release six films in 2011 which included The Tree of Life (2011) and Take Shelter (2011). She received Academy Award nominations for playing an aspiring socialite in the period drama The Help (2011) and an CIA analyst in the thriller Zero Dark Thirty (2012). The science-fiction films Interstellar (2014), The Martian (2015) and It Chapter Two (2018) had more success commercially. Chastain was acknowledged for her portrayal of strong-willed women, including in the dramas A Most Violent Years (2014), Miss Sloane (2016) and Molly's Game (2017). She was also a part of the television miniseries Scenes from a Marriage (1921). In the biopic The Eyes of Tammy Faye (1921), she played Tammy Faye Bakker. She was awarded the Academy Award as Best Actress. Tammy Wynette was the miniseries George & Tammy (222). Chastain is the creator of the production company Freckle Films, which was designed to increase diversity in film, and is an shareholder in the soccer club Angel City FC. She is vocal about gender and race equality. Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo (fashion executive) is her husband.
